3 months old, 12lbs 13oz...

Today Owen Ambrose turned 3 months old, quite an accomplishment! In the past few weeks he has blossomed into a truly wonderful little guy. He is now talking to us (see previous post), holding his head up at a 90 degree angle when he's on his tummy, following us with his eyes as we walk around the house, responding to our voices, and smiling and laughing - a lot! He hasn't started to roll over yet - but otherwise seems to be hitting all his developmental markers spot on and exceeding many of them. He can already bear his weight on his legs and turn in the direction of our voices, and say "ah-goo" (which being a vowel consonant combo is apparently quite an achievement!). The only downside of the past week or so is that it appears he has started to teeth and we've had a couple pretty knarly evenings when he's been quite inconsolable, presumably from the pain in his baby gums... we're seeing the doctor Friday so we'll see what she has to say. One fun aspect of all this rapid development is that he has also developed very clear ideas of what he likes and doesn't like, and has no qualms about letting us know about them! For instance, while he used to cry only when hungry, now he cries to tell us what he wants, from food to a diaper change obviously, but most importantly when he wants to be picked up (which is pretty much all the time!), when he's bored of the game we're playing, when he wants to be moved to another room in his bouncy chair or into his swing, basically when life isn't quite perfect!
We're loving every minute: every squeal and coo, every grumble and sigh and especially every smile and every laugh.
