A Day For Dads

For Brian's first Father's Day he elected to go camping at Crater's of the Moon National Monument, about a 45 minute drive from our house. A spectacular place, it is the remnants of a volcanic explosion that occurred 2,000 years ago (and is still active). The lava flows and cinder cones make for a bleakly beautiful landscape. Interestingly, the volcanic activity that created this eruption is all linked into the geo-thermal activity at Yellowstone National Park.
