England: Week Three... by Owen

Stories from our trip as told by the star of the show

Saturday, September 13 - Friday, September 19

Mummy and I left London this week and went to Dorset to stay with Grandma and Grandpa. I got to meet Great Aunt Alix and Great Uncle James, who had a funny face which made me laugh a lot!

Yippee! Daddy arrived! It was lots of fun to see him again and get lots of cuddles and kisses. He came to England in the big vibrating car too.

As soon as Daddy arrived I started having lots more fun, no more boring shops or restaurants, we went to Pubs where I got to pretend to drink beer! And we went to fun places like castles and Stratford.

Grandma, Grandpa, daddy and mummy and I went on a road trip to visit lots of places mummy used to spend time in. We went to Charlecote Park, which she lived in as a baby, and to the Mill House, where my great-grandpa and grandma used to live, which are all in a place called Warwickshire. I didn't get to meet my great-grandpa and grandma (I only got to the see the place where they are sleeping). But I did get to meet my great great aunt and uncle who were very fun to play with.

We then left the place called Warwickshire and drove on the Motorway to the North. We spent a lot of time in the car and I got very unhappy-after all it was Day 3. But once we got to the place called The Yorkshire Dales I was happy again and my nappy was full. We moved into a small little cottage in a village called Gunnerside which mummy said was in the middle of nowhere (which confused me as I that is what mummy calls the place where we live). The only thing I didn't like about Yorkshire Dales was all the weird things mummy and grandma kept trying to put in my mouth - squash, peas and sweet potato - eurgh. Why would I want to put them in my mouth?

One day we went on a long walk and saw lots of sheep who stared at us and said baaa. It was fun, even when we got lost and grandma fell over. Then we went to a place called The Lake District, which looked a lot like Redfish Lake, although I didn't like it there and screamed the whole time to be sure my mummy knew that I didn't like it. Daddy had fun though as he got to go in a boat and catch a fish. I did like going to the place where Peter the Rabbit's mummy Beatrix Potter lived, I like her, her books are pretty. I'd really like the complete works of Beatrix Potter for Christmas!

Great Aunty Alix wouldn't let me have her glass of champagne!

Daddy's home! I had to show him my new trick of eating my foot.

Here is where my great grandma and grandpa are sleeping.

Here is where my mummy lived when she was a baby like me (Charlecote Park).

Here's me and my mummy standing in front of Charlecote Park where she lived when she was a a baby (for a few weeks).

Here is where my great grandma and grandpa lived. Other people live in it now and we were lucky that they let us in to see it. My mummy says this is her favouritist place on earth and she wants to live here one day (when her and daddy are millionaires or when I win Wimbeldon).

Mummy says that I have "good hands" and will be a rugby player too. Daddy says I will be a football player - they argue about it a lot.

Here I am trying to have my first beer in the Dirty Duck in Stratford Upon Avon, where lots of famous actors drink alcohol.

This is me with my Great Great Uncle Wally and Great Great Aunt Joan and my grandparents and mummy - mummy said we were 4 generations.

Here is one of many sheep we saw on our walk in Yorkshire. There are more sheep here than back home.

Mummy was trying to keep me dry - she looks silly doesn't she?

I laughed anyway!

Here I am asleep on daddy as we walked over Swaledale in Yorkshire.

Here's Daddy's fish he caught in the Lake District. Mummy ate it, it was yummy.
