England: Week Two... by Owen

Stories from our trip as told by the star of the show
- Owen Ambrose Tuohy

Saturday, September 6 - Friday, September 12

We spent a lovely day in a place called Nunhead visiting Aunty Purday and her twin sister Louey. I got to play with Arthur who is only a week younger than me. We went to a fair on the common and saw lots of dogs (one even looked like Rinsey), fireman and children playing. It was a lot like home really - except for all the water. I got to meet Aunty Purday's baby too - who was very fluffy and kept making strange purring noises. She was very soft though and I liked her.

We packed up again (mummy spent a lot of time packing and unpacking the whole time we were in England) and moved out of the place with all the trees called Battersea. We loaded all the bags into a big car with Aunty Jo and a bottle of wine and went to somewhere called Primrose Hill. Here we stayed with Aunty Jo and her baby called Nunu, he was a little like Aunty Purday's baby expect he didn't have any fur and kept staring at me strangely.

One day we went to another restaurant, this one was called The Engineer. All my Aunties where there which was fun, and I got to play with baby Jonas, but then I decided I wasn't having that much fun any more and screamed and screamed until mummy and Henrie and Aunty Jo took me on a long walk through North London, which mummy said she was very surprised to find that she really liked despite being a dyed-in-the-wool "South London gal".

My favouritist day this week was when we went to a place with lots of toys and babies called Charlie's house. There I played with Aunty Nadia's other baby, Elias, who is a big boy, and who pushed me on a swing and roared at me until I laughed so hard that I couldn't laugh any more! I also got to hang out with a Norland Nanny who took me on to a lovely balcony so that mummy could eat salmon and cupcakes with my Aunties Nada, Rozzi and Charlie.

Then we spent some time being "tourists". We walked around London a lot, through a big park called Regent's Park and then mummy took me to see a huge house called Buckingham Palace (which wasn't that much bigger than some of the houses back home). We then went into a giant place called The Daily Telegraph where lots and lots of people were being very quiet and staring at computer screens. Mummy said that she used to work for The Telegraph, but I never got to meet him. I did get to meet Paul, Vicki and Francesca though who were lots of fun and let me eat their jewelry and Oyster card.

Here is the fair I went to. I had lots of fun watching little English babies get into sacks and try to run across the common. I have no idea why they were doing it though. It seemed a very difficult way to get around.

We had fun with the Purday Twins and their babies on Peckham Rye. It got very wet (again).

Aunty Hannah, Jo & Jonas at The Engineer. Jonas was much better than me, according to mummy.

Here I am in front of a house called Buckingham Palace. Mummy says the Queen lives there.

Me at the American Embassy, it had a very big bird on the top that just sat there and never flew away.

This is a very famous place to cross a road called Abbey Road, apparently some beetles like to cross it. Mummy said we couldn't tell Aunty Charlie that we took a picture of it, even though she lives on it.

At Aunty Charlie's mummy got to eat yummy salmon and a cupcake with my name on it!

The lovely Aunty Charlie and her little baby. They gave me lots of wonderful clothes and a nice place to sleep.
